BB (bath blog)

This past Friday, we finally escaped the heat of London to be met with the heat of Bath!
Just kidding, getting away from the city and getting to explore Bath was so, so much fun!

We started with a calming train ride through England with gorgeous views, and then finally arrived in Bath. We visited The Pump Room, where we were served many teas, scones, and delicious sandwiches. Our group had so much fun pretending to be British that we made up characters and fake drama to discuss. After a delicious meal, Milly, Thatcher, Cate, and I went to the circus and laid in the grass under trees and enjoyed the breeze. Thatcher led us through a meditation so relaxing that, shortly after, I suffered the consequences of lying in the grass and had the worst allergies. By the time we took the tour of the Roman Baths, I was so stuffy and itchy that it was hard to focus. Overall, though, I really enjoyed touring the baths because it was a real on-site location, and I was able to see the actual baths. It made everything so much cooler. I really liked learning about how the Romans spent their day-to-day lives. I was also obsessed with all the architecture and history around Bath; everything felt so stuck in time, and I truly felt like I had entered a new world upon arriving. It feels different in London, almost entirely to me; I felt like I was in the Italian countryside, everything was so much quieter and more intimate. We could walk to everything in about 10 minutes, and all the locals and shops made the town feel so, so charming. I could truly tell this is a town that cherishes its history and always strives to uphold it. One of my favorite parts of the day was chatting with the guides at the visitor center and just hearing them talk about their favorite things around town.
