My Experience At Borough Market

It is my nineth day in London and today I went to Borough Market. I was excited to see Borough market and all its unique foods and shops but, once I stepped into the market, I was met with an ocean of people that were walking through and surrounding all the shops. You could barely move through the crowd because it was so thick. Thankfully I was able to keep up with the crowd and not cause a traffic jam but, it made it difficult to see what the vendors were selling at their shops and pop up restaurants. From the few shops I did see, I saw people selling soaps in the shapes of animals and plants, candles inside of teacups, crystal jewelry, different types of meat pies, and fried octopus tentacles. I wonder what fried octopus tentacles tastes like. I wish I could have tried it.

After weaving our way through the bustling crowd, me, Alli and Emily were able to find a restaurant we liked and ordered some food. Alli and Emily got fish and chips and I got the chicken and chips. It was one of the best meals I’ve ever had. It was a chicken lover’s dream. It was two chicken tenders with shredded chicken and chicken stuffing on top, and a side of salted fries with mayonnaise. I thought the mayonnaise would ruin the fries but, it went well with it. I was pleasantly surprised. I really wanted to try the chocolate covered strawberries at the market, but the line was way too long. Thankfully, Emily was kind enough to let me try one of the strawberries that she bought, and it was so delicious! I must come back to Borough Market again on a less busy day just to buy some of the chocolate covered strawberries. I can’t stop thinking about them.

After we all finished our meals, me, Alli, and Emily decided to leave the market because it started to become too overwhelming. The crowd only seemed to get bigger and louder. We took the tube back to our hotel, and Alli and I took a much-needed nap. Experiencing Borough Market wiped us out.
